Yoga & Self-Regulation Workshop
Yoga & Self-Regulation Workshop
Meditation and yoga are the study and science of our internal states. They give us tools that help us to self regulate our nervous systems - the heart of our living experience.
We’re social creatures and hardwired for connection. And because of this, our internal state has a direct effect on the nervous systems of those around us.
If we know that our nervous systems influence our relationships with family, friends and community, and we have access to the tools for self-regulation (to be ok within ourselves) then surely it’s our responsibility to use these tools?
I view this as a form of activism against the systems and structures that want to keep us dysregulated and separated.
Not too lofty right?
So join me for this Yoga and Self-Regulation workshop, where we will explore the above points in more depth and look at:
What the nervous system is and how it affects our emotional states
The tools of self regulation through a meditation and yoga lens
The importance of co-regulating and self-regulating
Why negative experiences can actually be helpful to our wellbeing
And of course, we’ll do a yoga practice to help embody the information being discussed.
By the end of the workshop you’ll understand how regulating the nervous system contributes to both your wellness and that of the wider community.
